As you all know, I moved out to Colorado before my wife and daughter, who are still in Atascadero. I drove out in two 10ish hour days, and it was miserable. My body was not meant for sitting in a car like that. Sucked.
Once here in Denver, I got a room in the Extended Stay hotel, which has a kitchen. The coffee is absolutely terrible, but moving's expensive, and it was only last night I was able to buy some decent coffee (I had to grind it at the store since I haven't got a grinder yet; disadvantage, me), but as I write this Wednesday morning, I'm sipping some really decent French press coffee, and feeling much more human than I have this week.
Yesterday, I got a membership at the YMCA. There's one right by my work, and it's got a six-lane pool, and two very decent weight rooms. There's also a lot of cardio stuff (treadmills, elipticals, etc.) and an indoor track to run. There are pilates and yoga classes, free for the taking. Oh, and did I mention a hot tub? Excellent.
I swam last night, then lifted a set of weights. I was actually hungry afterward, something that I haven't been in quite some time. For the last two weeks or so, I haven't been hungry, just refueling. So that was a treat.
My room in a house is available today. I'll be moving in after work. Since I'm checking out of the hotel this morning, I'll be homeless for my entire shift at work today! Hooray!
Here's a picture of me writing in my hotel room.
I'm so glad you are adapting. After tonight things should become more "normal", or as best they can.
